Brazil President Says Leonardo DiCaprio Funds Amazon Wildfires

Brazil President accused Leonardo Dicaprio that he fined the World Wildlife Federation (WWF) to start in order to gain attention of public and to gather massive amount of donations. Bolsonaro also revealed that DiCaprio donated whopping $500,000 to WWF.

The Brazilian president said: “This Leonardo DiCaprio is a cool guy, right? Giving money to torch the Amazon.”

The president is openly criticizing Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and actor Leo. Leo got attention from Brazilian president because of being a hyper active supporter of WWF. Mr. president also revealed that the WWF purposely bought pictures and videos from Brazilian firefighters, who are working to tame the fire. WWF did that in order to get more interest of public and to get donations.

“So what did the NGO do? What is the easiest thing? Set fire to the forest. Take pictures, make a video. (WWF) makes a campaign against Brazil, it contacts Leonardo DiCaprio, he donates $500,000,” Bolsonaro said. “A part of that went to the people that were setting fires. Leonardo DiCaprio, you are contributing to the fire in the Amazon, that won’t do.”
